A seasoned educational executive and transformative leader, John has served in superintendent, executive director, chief executive, and higher education roles across California. His career reflects a steady commitment to advancing student achievement, strengthening organizational effectiveness, and building equitable systems that work for all learners. From leading large, diverse public school districts to guiding nonprofit institutions through periods of growth and change, John has built a reputation for entering complex environments and building clarity out of uncertainty.

John’s academic journey laid the foundation for his leadership philosophy. He earned his Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Human Development & Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he deepened his understanding of how students learn, grow, and thrive. His undergraduate degree in History from Santa Clara University sharpened the analytical and communication skills that continue to define his approach to leadership.
